Man Discovers Knife in His Back After 3 Years

Event Summary: When Billy McNeely's fingernail got caught on a sharp object while he was itching his back, he knew something was wrong.  After further investigation as to what the object was, his girlfriend responded that there was a knife protruding out of his back.  Three years ago, McNeely had gotten into a fight and was stabbed five times.  He was rushed to the hospital where the doctors proceeded to stitch him up without taking an X-ray.  Now, three years later, after complaining of pain, he went back to the hospital where doctors proceeded to remove the knife.

Event Significance: This event has very little significance seeing how it took place in Canada.  It does bring to mind the carelessness of a minor group of doctors who are "practicing" in the medical field.  In reality, they do everything they can to take advantage of other people and squeeze money out of them.  While I feel like this was an unfortunate accident, the lessons learned from this event have a purpose.

Personal Response: When I read this story, I felt sick because I do not like knifes, especially ones that are visible inside a person's back.  The thought of living with a knife blade inside of your back for three years makes me cringe, for I do not think that it was a pleasant experience.
